How we can help with your project…

If it is suspected that asbestos containing materials or asbestos fibres are present in your material it can be due to previous works or site history. As expected, over time asbestos material can vary in condition, and some asbestos material cannot be seen to the naked eye. Asbestos contamination can reach very high percentages and it is imperative that should there be any risk of asbestos contamination in your material, to collect some samples of the potentially contaminated area and get it analysed.

Competent Person Identification

Where waste contains pieces of asbestos which are identifiable by a competent person by the naked eye, these pieces must be assessed separately. The waste is hazardous if the concentration of asbestos in the piece of asbestos containing material is 0.1% or more.

We can offer a comprehensive range of testing soils or unknown substances for asbestos. This can be done in a 3 stage process:

Asbestos ID

Indicates the presence or not of asbestos within the test material. Asbestos

Quantification (Gravimetric)

Assesses the quantity of asbestos within the sample, required for disposal purposes.

Asbestos Quantification (Microscopic)

Testing may be required for samples containing smaller fractions of asbestos fragments.

Once we have the soil reports and the results for the test we can begin to look into viable haulage and disposal routes for the material to ensure each aspects of the works undertaken from your project are fully compliant.

We can offer Asbestos ID and Asbestos Quantification tests but if you have questions regarding how the tests are taken and other testing and analysis we can conduct, please contact us.
